The World Health Organization (WHO) in collaboration with the Johns Hopkins International Injury Research Unit (JH-IIRU) is pleased to offer a free, online course developed to support capacity building in the field of road safety legislation. The course will allow participants to become familiar with how to develop evidence-based road safety laws and regulations and country-specific examples on how road safety is addressed in the legal sphere. 

This free, self-paced course is open to anyone interested in road safety legislation. 

How is it organized?

This course includes 4 multimedia educational models which cover:

  • Basic road safety facts
  • The importance of legislation in road safety
  • The evidence base for key road safety risk factor and post-crash care laws; factors to consider when prioritizing legislative changes
  • How to advocate for improvements, including how to engage media in these efforts

Participants receive an individualized certificate upon successful completion of the course.
