The 2nd African Night Without Accident took place on Saturday, October,19th 2013 in Benin and Cameroon. ALINAGNON organized the event in Beninin one of Cotonou’s most popular bars, «Onze National», next to the Amitié Stadium. )
Groups of ALINAGNON volunteers went and met customers to provide them information about the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol. Then they allowed the drivers to take a breath test. 86 tests were taken by 26 women and 62 men.
58 people were below the legal threshold and were awarded with goodies. 28 people had a positive test and were given advice so that they could find a safe way of going back home.
The African Night Without Accident follows the lead of the European Night Without Accident (ENWA).This event started in 2003 in 4 countries and covers now the majority of Europe (26 countries in 2011).
